Pyrolysis Behavior of Polyvinyl Chloride with Sodium Hydroxide and Application to Copper Recovery from Multiwire Tinned Copper Cables

چکیده

In this study, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) was pyrolyzed with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to capture the generated hydrogen (HCl) gas as (NaCl) and carbonize organic contents generate fuel gases such (H2) methane (CH4). addition, pyrolysis behavior of PVC NaOH, its application copper recovery from thin PVC-coated tinned multiwire cables were examined. With an increase in temperature, released HCl at approximately 300°C underwent carbonization 500°C. Upon immersing a NaOH solution, it converted into powdered carbonaceous material; therefore, amount decreased by being captured NaCl, whereas increased pyrolysis. At heating temperature 500°C, coating wire removed via formation material salts after addition distilled water. The results suggest that environmentally friendly eff ective process for capturing NaCl converting covered materials is suitable treatment, proposed approach can be applied through NaOH.

Interaction of dietary sodium chloride and waterborne copper in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss): copper toxicity and sodium and chloride homeostasis

Juvenile rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) maintained on either low sodium chloride (LS (control), 1.4% NaCl) or high sodium chloride (HS, 11% NaCl) diet were exposed to 55 μg·L–1 waterborne copper (Cu) for 28 days. Cu-exposed fish maintained on the LS diet exhibited 26% mortality, more than double (11%) that in fish maintained on the HS diet. Waterborne Cu exposure inhibited growth by 56% in...

Corrosion Behavior of Copper in Chloride Media

The electrochemical behavior of copper in 0.05 M HCl and 0.05 M NaCl carried out at open-circuit potential and at constant anodic potential after one hour has been investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) at 20 °C, 40 °C and 60 °C. The formation of copper chloride (CuCl) film does not protect copper from dissolution in the chloride media. The physical properties of the pa...

Recovery of Copper from Copper Slag and Copper Slag Flotation Tailings by Oxidative Leaching

Copper smelter slag and copper smelter slag flotation tailings were leached using sulphuric acid solutions, without or with the addition of either ferric sulphate or hydrogen peroxide. Copper extraction from the slag was typically found to be twice as high as that from the slag flotation tailings. Hydrogen peroxide was determined to be the best lixiviant. Thus, copper and iron extractions were ...

Electroleaching of Copper Waste with Recovery of Copper by Electrodialysis

A new process to leach and recover copper from solid waste using electric fields was designed. The leaching with electro migration is presented as an alternative to traditional leaching. Preliminary data indicate that the copper ion migration is facilitated by using the electrical potential difference; therefore applying a potential difference in the processes of leaching facilitates the remova...
